Ahh….the dreaded grocery shopping with a toddler. You might even avoid it completely. Empower your toddler with these attainable tasks that they can complete before, during and after you shop. Toddlers are more willing to cooperate if they are involved in the experience. Not to mention the confidence and sense of independence built from completing the tasks. PRO TIP: Never shop when you or your child are hungry!
Add a Toddler-Led Walk to Your Daily Routine
Immerse yourself in your toddler’s world with a toddler-led walk. Observe what they gravitate towards, point at, run towards, pick up and get curious about.
Find a favorite park, nature trail or grassy space that is safe for them to navigate freely. Avoid areas where they will have to cross roads as this will interrupt the walk.
Keep in mind that some things on their walk they might be experiencing for the very first time like a butterfly crossing their path or a new texture they are feeling. Consider the wonder and joy that may bring.
